Michelle Basic-Hendry

About the Artist:

 

Michelle Basic Hendry SCA is an award winning artist and landscape painter. She has been elected by her peers to become a member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Landscape Artists International. 

Her paintings of nature and architecture are unique, capturing the subtle, commonly overlooked moods of her surroundings. She strives to bring out the grace and beauty of decaying architecture and perhaps evoke a memory, tell a story or create a mood. Her latest series of paintings are of buildings that have been left to be reclaimed by the landscape. 

 

Michelle holds an Honours Degree in History from the University of Toronto and a Diploma with Distinction from Georgian College in Graphic Design and she has instructed at Georgian College in Design. Michelle has work in private collections in Canada, the U.S. and the UK. and appeared in several publications in the last several years. 

To add to her credit , Hendry has become a distinguished author with her first publication "Once Imagined" a collection of historic anecdotes and stories accompanying her paintings on pioneer homesteads and abandoned landmarks of Muskoka and surrounding area.
